THE FOUNDATION STONE IN THE HOLY OF HOLIES Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder and head of the Temple Institute, describes the Foundation Stone (Even HaShtiyah) upon which the Ark of the Covenant once stood, during the time of the exile. Rabbi David ben Zimra (Radbaz), 1497 - 1573, was born in Spain. At the age of 13, he, with his family, and all of Spanish Jewry were expelled from Spain. His family moved to Tzfat (Safed) in Israel. Later he became Chief Rabbi of Cairo and later he moved to Jerusalem.
