They worked great for securing our 4x4 square fence post to the 2x4 boards for extra strength and stability from the inside of the fence. Our actual post size is a little 3 1/2 inch, not quite 4 but these fit perfect. For anyone wondering, the lip part is a little over an inch so is flush against your 2 x 4 that you are attaching it to but attaching these on each 2x4 on your post will help tremendously during high winds being you secure your board or panels from the outside to your posts. So we have 3 on each post but for all the hard work of building and staining the fence it's worth it to hopefully make it last as long as possible. We live in Florida and being from Louisiana or any hurricane prone area this is a must unless you want to take a chance of your fence possibly laying flat on the ground like I have seen so many do after a storm. Now they are galvanized steel so if you want to paint them to blend in with your fence then you have to use something to make the paint bond to galvanized steel. So after much research, we learned that Rust Oleum Universal "bonding" primer first, let dry and then paint the color you want with a metal suitable paint. If you don't do the first step then your paint will will just peel right off. We painted ours and used stainless steel hardware and then gave the hardware a quick spray after installed to blend in. I attached photos to show before and after but fence feels super sturdy now!

After deciding I didn't want to pay $10k (had 3 estimates) to have someone else replace my 20 yr old wooden fence I started pricing to do the job myself. The worst part was the possibility of needing to replace about 60 4x4 posts around the yard. The fence panels were all rotted out and falling apart, but the majority of the posts were in pretty good shape...except where the panels were attached and the hardware wore out the wood. I bought a bunch of these post ties and used them to go around the posts and they attach to the ends of the fence panels where they meet at the post. I used 1/4-20 hardware to attach the panels and just used some #8 deck screws to help secure this bracket to the post. These brackets saved me many hours of hard work and hundreds of dollars by not having to buy lumber and concrete, I didn't need to rent a post hole digger and my new fence is 100 times more secure than the original one. After pressure washing the old posts (done after the pic) they don't even look old. I was able to put up a new fence for under $3,000.

I was looking for something to hold up my old bed that I have in the guestroom as it squeaks quite a bit and keeps people up at night. I have positioned one of these in each corner while securing it with a screw and let me tell you, it did the job magnificently! I have also use these for other projects that I have in the garage and they are well built and very sturdy! Highly recommend. By the way, this is not very heavy. It is light but if you need something for a project that is even lighter. T...
