The first compulsory school uniform was introduced. Prior to this, there were some optional uniform items available or students simply wore their Sunday best. Prep was introduced for the first time, making Ipswich Grammar School now a Prep to Year 12 school for boys.

Uniforms (not including AIEF students) Boarding families are encouraged to order uniform items online before school commences so they can be delivered to the Boarding office for the boys to collect prior to the first day of school.

Students must wear full School uniform to school every day. All uniform items should be clean and in good repair. Full uniform, including hat, is to be worn when wearing the uniform in public before and after school, e.g. at shopping centres (no joggers, thongs, hair down, etc).
Hours of Operation and Contact Details – IGS Clothing Store
The Clothing Store is open the following hours during the school term: Monday to Friday. 7.30am to 9.30am. 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Orders can be placed through the Clothing Store online and items can be delivered to Junior School (for Junior School students only) or collected from the Clothing Store during business hours.
