The Hawkins Mine and Gammon Grenade | C/505 PIR Reenacted
Jun 10, 2019 · Typically found are photos of Airborne Troopers with Hawkins mines strapped to their lower legs. After the evacuation from Dunkirk in May/June 1940 it was realised that there was the need for a new anti-tank weapon. It was roughly four months later Captain Hawkins submitted a design for a hand thrown anti-tank mine.

Aug 9, 2020 · These were covered in an earlier thread along with the Hawkins Mine. Finally scored a couple bodies as they have been sold out for the past year or so. Filled with non drying modeling putty to replicate the C4 plastic explosive filler. Gives it a realistic weight and feel.

One of the guys Keith Bunger from Airborne Demonstration Team (ADT) makes the hacksaw blades, mini-compass and silk maps for E&E kits, pockets etc. He sells on ebay under seller ID Bungerclan. Also makes some nice replica cot straps for use to tie down boot knives, Hawkins mines and other equipment.
