Like, I have a feeling the game was supposed to be without those open world sections when it was first being made, and they were later added in because everything has to be open world now. I swear there's going to be an open world survival with crafting mechanics racing game sometime soon.

Feb 11, 2023 · This may not be the game for you, then. Def wait for it to release and watch some gameplay footage first. I'm expecting a minimally open world outside of the story line. Maybe there will be some sidequests that have you go off the beaten path or go back to old parts of the map, but nowhere near the open-worldness of Fallout or Skyrim.

Atomic Heart meanwhile has like 13 or so weapons total. The first 2 or 3 are provided by the story and the rest (along with the crafting receipes for items/ammo) are found as blueprints in RNG chests.

So open world will ruin it. I know it did for me. Do the story and if you are near a polygon / testing chamber go in there for the fun of it and to find upgrades but don't wander off too much in the world. Stick to the main story. Open world ruins the game sadly.
