Apr 29, 2021 · It's kinda compicated. There are fantastic fighters in the PFL. But there are less (in terms of quantity) fantastic fighters in the PFL than in the UFC, and with that comes less prestige from wins. Though it's still a huge accomplishment to even make it there. It's like a national level league vs an international league.

Jan 14, 2006 · Now, the other thing about the PFL is that the talent level was a couple notches below both the UFC and Bellator, but if you are judging entertainment alone, then PFL had the most entertaining event. Overall grade: B The UFC had a very good prelims, better than what I expected but that shit main event and average main card really deters from it.

Your average MMA fan can’t name 3 PFL fighters. Your average UFC fan doesn’t even know what PFL is. Bellator is nowhere even close to UFC success, yet it’s at least a known reputable fight organization with an estimated worth of $6B. PFL is reported at $500M. That makes PFL 12 TIMES SMALLER THAN BELLATOR.

The guy that was put on a 3 year hibernation is fighting for the title coming of fresh of getting demolished, vs the ped abuser who spent 3 years ducking Reyes/Ngannou puting 5 pounds of muscle. If PFL can make promos on ESPN with that soundbite, people are gonna remember PFL exists. That's good for them.

The sport is bigger than just the UFC; this Is r/MMA not r/UFC and the lack of alternatives being suggested in this thread saddens me. ONE fc has a better product than ever right now, every event js free on YouTube, and as the UFC stagnates and fight nights become more and more unknown 12k/12k fighters, I find myself increasiny looking forward ...

Jul 27, 2013 · PFL's approach felt more like a tournament, but atleast in Bellator, you did get the matches that were supposed to happen. All in all, I think both tournament formats had their positives and negatives. Bellator's format was definately easier to follow, while PFL wanted to use a points based system.

May 16, 2023 · The UFC is so established as the premier fighting league IMO that it doesnt really matter what happens at this point short of a mass exodus of its top roster. Even then I don't know if it would matter. Pretty much any MMA fighter gets their relevance from competing in the UFC.
