“In fact, the player’s Mega Ball pick was the number 5, leaving them tantalizingly close — just one digit short — from sharing the drawing’s advertised $1.22 billion jackpot that was won by an out-of-state player,” the commission said.

A $1 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Arlington last month was one digit away from winning a $1.2 billion jackpot.

Two Texas residents claimed $1 million prizes from lottery games, according to the Texas Lottery. A Round Rock resident won with a Mega Millions ticket purchased at 7-Eleven, at 1315 N. Collins St. in Arlington.

A Mega Millions ticket sold in Texas won $30,000, just missing the $95 million jackpot, lottery officials said. The tickets matched four winning numbers, the Mega Ball and the Megaplier, in the drawing Tuesday, Jan. 14, the Texas Lottery said.

A Round Rock resident narrowly missed the $1.22 billion jackpot, matching all five white ball numbers, and missing the Mega Ball number by one digit. The player's pick was 5 and the winning number was 6.
