The First Alert Weather Team has declared Saturday a First Alert Weather Day due to expected rain and storms, some of which could be strong to severe.A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for the most of North Texas until noon Saturday.

One tornado swirled through fields near El Campo, Texas on Thursday, roughly midway between Houston and Victoria. Another twister touched down near Atascocita in Harris County, then moved over Lake Houston.

Parts of southwest Texas saw a handful of tornadoes Thursday that caused some property damage, but no reported serious injuries. More severe storms are in the forecast for the area this weekend. CBS News national reporter Kati Weis has a report from Texas and CBS News Philadelphia meteorologist Grant Gilmore has a look at the weather on the horizon.

It will be a stormy start to your Saturday in North Texas. Rain and storms will continue through the late morning to about noon. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for much of North Texas until noon.
