A Kentucky man was arrested after the Ionia County Sheriff's Office said he drove across state lines to kidnap a 14-year-old girl from Ionia County.

IAN Alerts are one of two new alerts that were passed into law in Kentucky in 2024. It uses the same system as an Amber Alert, but is meant to notify everyone of a child with autism or other special needs when they've gone missing and might be in danger, according to a spokesperson for the Team Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet .

The child was reported missing in Cub Run, Kentucky Tuesday morning, but was found about 30 minutes after the alert was issued.

JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - The Jackson Police Department is on the scene of a deadly crash on KY-15. The section of highway between the Jiffy Mart and Walmart is closed for an undetermined amount of time. An IAN Alert was sent out by Kentucky State Police about 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday that said a missing juvenile was reported in Club Run, Kentucky. The alert said the missing juvenile may be endangered or in need of assistance.
