A disturbance dubbed Invest 93L could become Tropical Storm Dexter as it tracks west from Florida toward Louisiana, forecasters say.

The Golden State Valkyries are back on the road for a game against the Seattle Storm on Wednesday. It will be the third time the Valkyries and Storm meet. Golden State is 2-0 against the Storm, and they won overwhelmingly in their last match-up, 84-57.

The Florida Panhandle will see heavy rainfall from Invest 93L after it reaches the Gulf on Wednesday. The greatest threat to the area at the moment is flash flooding in low-lying, poor-drainage areas and urban locations. Invest 93L is currently expected to make landfall near Louisiana's southeastern coast Thursday morning.

Forecasts suggested widespread rainfall totals between 2 and 4 inches, with isolated areas seeing as much as 7 inches by Tuesday evening. Authorities emphasized the risk posed by flooding, including rapidly rising waters in streams and dangerous road conditions in both cities and rural areas.

Heavy rain inundated the region with flash flooding that stranded vehicles in roadways, closed subway lines and led to the declaration of states of emergency.

Scattered storms are developing across north and central Georgia, potentially impacting the MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park.

The hatched areas on the National Hurricane Center's tropical outlook map indicate "areas where a tropical cyclone — which could be a tropical depression, tropical storm or hurricane — could develop," said National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rhome.
