US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a stark warning to Russia as NATO allies gathered in Brussels to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine
President Putin swiped back on Thursday at U.S. President Donald Trump for calling Russia a "paper tiger", suggesting NATO might be one and warning Europe that Moscow would respond swiftly if it thinks it is being provoked.
The director of Russia's domestic FSB intelligence service has accused the U.K., a member of NATO, of direct involvement in attacks on Russia.
His goals are to scare, exhaust and divide Europeans, causing them to question their support for Ukraine and undermine its efforts to repel Russia’s invasion. Ultimately, he also wants to make the United States look weak and fragment the NATO alliance.
“The violation of Poland’s airspace earlier this week is not an isolated incident and impacts more than just Poland,” the NATO commander, U.S. Air Force General Alexus Grynkewich, said when he announced the new measures, adding, “NATO is not waiting; we are acting.”
