Most know Superman’s story — or at least thinks they do. James Gunn’s “Superman” does so well to remind us why this story still matters, and why we still need it.

According to Gunn, the final shortlist came down to David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and another unnamed actor. “Another actor's fantastic,” he said of the third candidate. Corenswet ultimately landed the role of Superman, while Hoult was cast as the film’s main villain, Lex Luthor.
