The dean of Georgetown University Law Center on Thursday rebuked a threat from the acting US attorney in Washington, DC, that he would not hire the law school’s students if it does not remove diversity,

Georgetown University’s law school should remove all DEI from its courses if it wants students to intern with the U.S. attorney for D.C., according to a recent letter. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin, the federal prosecutor for Washington, D.C., asked Dean William Treanor if he had “eliminated” DEI from classes, and if not, if he planned to.

Trump appointee Ed Martin made the claim in a letter to the Georgetown University law school dean. Martin has called the school a “locus” of anti-Trump activity.

The school's dean argues the First Amendment "guarantees that the government cannot direct what Georgetown and its faculty teach and how to teach it."

Georgetown Law School is under investigation over promoting DEI. Dean of Georgetown Law School William Treanor rebuffed on this claim saying the school was well within their rights to determine their own curriculum.
