Angel City FC has completed the signing of defender Alanna Kennedy from Manchester City. Kennedy, who turned 30 on Tuesday, has joined the NWSL side on a one-year contract for 2025 with the option of an additional 12 months.

The defender has signed a one-year contract in the NWSL following her recent departure from England's Manchester City.

The San Diego Wave have added three more players, continuing their recent foray into international signings. The club announced Monday that it had signed 18-year-old Colombian defender Sintia Cabezas, Nigerian midfielder Favour Emmanuel and goalkeeper DiDi Haračić to contracts.

The forward, ACFC’s first signing ahead of its inaugural season, returned in August after a 2022 ACL injury and four surgeries sidelined her for 781 days.

There is the immediate pressing matter of naming Angel City’s next head coach, after the club parted ways with Becki Tweed in December. Eleri Earnshaw was named interim head coach as part of that announcement, and Parsons said he expects to wrap up the technical staff by the end of the week — and not put a timeline on hiring a new head coach.

Alanna Kennedy has signed with Angel City FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) after a four-year spell with Manchester City.

Manchester City have confirmed that Alanna Kennedy will depart the club ahead of the player's move to the US. Kennedy initially joined City in 2021 after having previously been at Tottenham Hotspur before going on to make 64 appearances for the club.
