The Las Cruces Police Department arrested a man it believes to be responsible for Tuesday's fatal stabbing of Lawrence Patrick Rubio. James Melendrez, 31, was arrested and is charged with an open count of murder, according to police. He is initially being held without bond at the Doña Ana County Detention Center.
