Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain have closed their gates due to the extreme winds fueling a series of dangerous and rapidly spreading wildfires across Southern California. At least three wildfires propelled by a dynamic and rare Santa Ana windstorm with gusts up to 80 mph were quickly consuming thousands of acres across Los Angeles County on Wednesday,

Six Flags Magic Mountain will remain closed on Wednesday due to high winds in the area. Tickets purchased for Wednesday will be honored on “any other regular operating day” until Dec. 31, the theme park announced on Instagram.

Universal was not the only amusement park to close. Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia also announced closure due to high winds. So far, other major parks, Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, Disneyland in Anaheim, Legoland in Carlsbad are still open.
