One of India’s main opposition figures and New Delhi’s chief minister says he will resign from office, two days after he was granted bail in a bribery case.

Senior AAP leader Atishi will be Delhi’s new chief minister, the party unanimously agreed on Tuesday after Arvind Kejriwal proposed her name as his successor in a meeting of the party's legislators

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) party had initially decided that only Atishi would be sworn in, however, it was later determined that her council of ministers would also take the oath.
