Country singer Jeannie Seely, known for her razor-sharp wit and a soulful delivery that earned her the nickname 'Miss Country Soul,' has died at 85.

She blazed a trail for women in country music with the candor of her songs and her bold fashion sense. She was the first woman to host a segment on the Opry.

Seely was the first Pennsylvania native to be inducted into the Opry and was the first woman to regularly host segments.
