NEW PHILADELPHIA ‒ An Akron man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after leading police on a chase on Interstate 77 and U.S. 250 before it ended in New Philadelphia.
A 32-year-old Akron man, James Mashburn, died in a collision on I-77 when his pickup struck a semi. He was a beloved local teacher and coach. The crash is under investigation.
