The European Union announced on Monday a new humanitarian aid package of 140 million euros ($142.8 million) for Ukraine and a further 8 million euros worth of aid for Moldova.

The European Union is allocating an additional 140 million euros ($143 million) in humanitarian assistance for Ukraine, the European Commission said in a statement on Jan. 13.

The European Union has allocated €148 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and projects in Moldova for Ukrainian refugees. The total amount of EU humanitarian aid has reached 1.1 billion euros, according to the European Commission.
