As a new administration takes office in Washington D.C., the family of new Second Lady Usha Vance will be in the spotlight.

Vice President JD Vance is married to Usha Chilukuri Vance. Usha Chilukuri Vance was born to Indian immigrants who moved to the U.S. in the late 1970s, Reuters reported. She was raised in the suburbs of San Diego, California.

JD Vance wrote about meeting his wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, as a Yale Law School student in "Hillbilly Elegy."

With her husband set to serve alongside President-elect Donald Trump, Usha Vance will become the first Indian American second lady in the White House. She will also be the first Hindu second lady. JD Vance thanked "my beautiful wife for making it possible to do this" on social media after multiple news organizations projected that Trump had won the presidential election over Vice President Kamala Harris.
