Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne's status for Saturday's game against Louisiana-Monroe remains unclear as he continues to deal with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

Struggling Auburn Tigers quarterback Payton Thorne is battling a sore shoulder, and Hugh Freeze may pounce on the opportunity to make a change.

The quarterback position has been a point of concern throughout the season for the Auburn Tigers. With that, head coach Hugh Freeze evaluated starter Payton Thorne and the state of the entire quarterback room coming out of the bye week.

Starting quarterback Payton Thorne did not practice during the bye week due to a shoulder injury suffered against Vanderbilt, according to Freeze. With Thorne out, Freeze said Hank Brown, Holden Geriner and Walker White all got reps during the bye week.

Despite missing practice time with a shoulder injury during Auburn football's bye week, quarterback Payton Thorne said Tuesday that he should be "good to go" for the Tigers' game against Louisiana-Monroe this weekend.
