DJI’s Osmo Action 5 Pro is available today starting at $349 / £329 / €379 for the standard combo kit, which includes the horizontal-vertical protective frame, battery, USB-C cable, and a number accessories for mounting and cleaning your new action cam.

Drone maker DJI plans to take on GoPro with its Osmo Action 5’s improved sensor it claims rivals professional cameras.

Osmo Action 5 Pro can connect directly to the DJI Mic 2 Transmitter via Bluetooth, enabling ultra-high-sampling-rate audio recording. This setup provides studio-quality sound while eliminating the need for a receiver. When Built-in Mic Audio Backup is enabled, ambient sounds can be recorded to add a richer layer of authenticity.

In the case of sensor size, the two cameras are matched, both sporting a 1/1.3” CMOS sensor. The Ace Pro’s was co-developed by Leica - as were the optics - for a high-quality finish. Though we haven’t got our hands on the Osmo Action 5 Pro, initial reports would suggest similarly excellent low-light performance to the Ace Pro.
