LAS VEGAS — Cooper Flagg ’s first NBA Summer League is over after just two games. The Dallas Mavericks shut down the No. 1 overall pick for the remainder of their time in Las Vegas, a person with knowledge of the situation of the decision confirmed Sunday to The Dallas Morning News.

In his second Summer League outing, the 18-year-old Flagg put up a game-high 31 points while shooting 10-for-21 against the Spurs on Saturday. The Mavericks ultimately lost the game 76-69, with incoming rookie Dylan Harper leading the way with 16 points, six rebounds and two steals for San Antonio.

Cooper Flagg has been tipped for NBA stardom since his high school days. He's a few months away from getting a chance to prove those early premonitions correct, but he'll take the floor under Mavericks colors for the first time on Thursday when Dallas kicks off its slate in Las Vegas Summer League.
