According to their petition, the neighbors are OK with construction of two homes on the lot but don’t want to lose the canopy provided by the Magnolia, Chilean Lantern and Valley oak trees.

Not only would the trees — a magnolia, Chilean Lantern and Valley oak — be cut down, but the excavation and construction work also would damage the mature oak tree on her property, she argued.
