Wordle is one of the biggest things on the internet. Every day, millions of players flock to the NYT to solve the word puzzle, and Apple wants a piece of that daily attention. To combat Wordle, Apple has launched Emoji Game, a daily word puzzle that involves slotting emoji into a puzzle to fill the blanks in various words and phrases.

Wordle is a browser game, but for a lot of people hearing about the viral game, their first port of call was the Apple App Store, which is where they found Wordle, but not that one.

The race to find the next Wordle continues. Apple just introduced a new game that combines emoji with wordplay, but it's just for News+ subscribers.
