The man accused of killing an “American Idol” executive and her husband used the couple’s gun to kill them and later called the police, authorities allege.

Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70, were found shot to death in their Los Angeles home during a welfare check on July 14, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman revealed the new details in the slaying of Kaye and DeLuca during a town hall meeting in Encino on Monday where hundreds of residents gathered to express frustration about a string of recent break-ins plaguing the area.
