The death of Amber Nicole Thurman has become a significant issue in Georgia ahead of the November elections. A ProPublica report claims her death resulted from complications during an abortion, linked to the state's abortion ban.

Thurman, 28, experienced a rare complication after taking abortion pills and died during emergency surgery in August 2022, ProPublica reported.
