A winter storm moved into New England on Thursday afternoon after delivering a messy combination of heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain in the Midwest and Northeast.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for Delaware as heavy snow is expected to hit the state Tuesday afternoon. The watch, which will take effect at 1 p.m. Tuesday, is forecasted to bring 3 to possibly 8 inches of snow to the state.

Winter keeps hitting the First State. The Delaware forecast is calling for heavy snow starting this afternoon and continuing into Wednesday morning. Sussex and Kent counties will be under a winter storm warning starting at 1 p.

Three storm systems are expected to sweep the country, bringing snow, sleet and freezing rain to places that have been pummeled by recent bouts of wintry weather.
