Hudson Thames, the voice actor for Marvel's new animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, has sparked controversy after revealing he initially feared the Disney+ show would be "annoying and woke".

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is an animated remix paying tribute to the character’s 1960s comic book roots. It takes the character back to a high school setting in a modern age but an alternate universe from that in the MCU.

Man, Hudson Thames, seemingly had some doubts about how the tone of the series would turn out. The show recently premiered its first two episodes on Disney+ and will follow a unique release pattern for its remaining chapters.
