The latest flight test of the most powerful rocket ever to fly got underway from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas, at about 5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 7.

After launch, an apparent propellant leak entered its suborbital trajectory left Starship spinning and mission control unable to control the craft.

The spacecraft began spinning as it skimmed space toward an entry in the Indian Ocean. The first-stage booster ended up in the Gulf of Mexico in pieces.
