Seven dangerous locations across San Diego will soon get new safety features including flashing beacons, countdown timers, pedestrian-friendly delayed-green stoplights and crosswalks that aim to boost visibility.

The City of San Diego Monday pinpointed seven dangerous intersections and street sections for safety improvements as part of its annual High Crash Locations list.

City staff reviewed data from 2023 and found and evaluated seven locations where five or more crashes had occurred. The analysis also looked at intersections and street segments with the most injury crashes and crashes involving pedestrians.
