Writer, producer and LGBTQ+ trailblazer Russell T Davies has been commissioned to create a new drama series, Tip Toe, which will “explore the most corrosive forces facing the LGBTQ+ community today”.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies returns to drama with Tip Toe, a spiritual sequel to Queer as Folk but set in darker current times.

Screenwriter Russell T Davies will return to Channel 4 with a new drama examining the challenges facing the LGBT+ community. It follows the success of award-winning series It’s A Sin, which aired in 2021 and told the story of a group of young friends living in London during the HIV/Aids crisis in the 1980s.

Entitled Tip Toe, the new five-part series will see Davies reunite with Quay Street Productions and Nicola Shindler, who he worked previously with on Queer as Folk and It's a Sin. Tip Toe will also be directed by Peter Hoar, who is best known for his work on It's a Sin, The Last of Us and the upcoming season of Doctor Who.
