A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Miyazaki Prefecture Monday evening in Japan, initially setting off a tsunami warning before it was called off, officials said.

Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki has won his first Golden Globe Award at the age of 83 for The Boy and the Heron. This marks the first Golden Globe win for a non-English animated feature.
