Marvel Rivals received a patch earlier this week which made Hulk less hulky and paved the way for the launch of its first season. It also did something else: disabled the mods players had been using to add custom skins to the game.

The first season of Marvel Rivals may have started, but it's brought an end to mods that let players be third-party characters.

Give the hype surrounding the game, it seemed somewhat likely that Marvel Rivals would beat its launch concurrent playercount. It did, and then some.
