The Trump DOJ asked the Supreme Court to lift a judge’s block on deportations to South Sudan, arguing the order forced the U.S. to detain migrants in Djibouti.

President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to make it easier for his administration to deport people to South Sudan and other countries that are not their homeland, the latest in a series of controversial immigration policies the administration has put before the conservative-majority high court.

A district court judge had barred deporting citizens of other countries to South Sudan without giving them a chance to claim fears of being tortured or killed.
