After heavy rainfall, multiple hazards have been issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville as of Monday morning.
Governor Andy Beshear held a news conference Monday to address the weather and the state’s response. The governor updated Kentuckians on the ongoing weather event. It was streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
A round of severe and life-threatening storms is expected to sweep through much of Kentucky between Wednesday night and Saturday, likely bringing severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flash-flooding. That includes possibly up to 15 inches of rain in some parts of Western Kentucky, forecasters warn.
Significant severe weather and life-threatening flash flooding continue to impact much of the mid-South up through the Ohio River Valley.

On Friday, President Donald Trump approved Gov. Andy Beshear's request for an emergency disaster declaration. Multiple areas were impacted by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding on Wednesday, April 2.
Lexington Road/KY 2328 – the roadway is temporarily closed between the Boones Trace Subdivision (mile point 1.4) and the bridge over the KY River (mile point 1.9) due to an active mudslide. Motorists will need to utilize Lexington Road/US 25 to Interstate 75 at Exit 99 as an alternate route.
