He was born on the 6th May 1935, the same day as the Silver Jubilee of King George V. Every child born on this day was given a special silver commemorative cup.

On Sunday 6th February, Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee ... as much for the death of my father, King George VI, as for the start of my reign.
