Gerald Eddie Brown Jr. was arrested and charged Wednesday for providing unauthorized defense services to Chinese pilots.

The former officer traveled to China to train pilots of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force without approval from the State Department, the Justice Department said.

This latest case mirrors similar criminal charges issued against another U.S. military vet almost a decade ago.
