Jim Montgomery returns to TD Garden for the first time as the head coach of the Blues. Montgomery was the head coach of the Bruins for just over two seasons from the 2022-23 to the 2024-25 season. He had a 120-41-23 overall record with Boston. Montgomery was hired by St. Louis in November 2024.

Down to just five defensemen, the Bruins made another move for some extra help on the backend on Thursday morning.

The Bruins have announced that forward Casey Mittelstadt has been added to their active roster after having not played since Nov. 6 against the Ottawa Senators due to injury. This is certainly good news, as the 27-year-old is a key part of Boston's forward group. In 15 games this season, he has recorded four goals and nine points.

Goalie will report to the Providence Bruins for the remainder of this season on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO).

Mika Zibanejad scored two power-play goals to help the New York Rangers beat the Boston Bruins 6-2 on Friday. Artemi Panarin had a goal and three assists for New York in its third consecutive win. Carson Soucy, Alexis Lafreniere and Vladislav Gavrikov also scored, and Igor Shesterkin stopped 19 shots.

BOSTON — Another Bruins defenseman is headed to injured reserve, which has prompted the recall of a new face from the AHL. With Michael Callahan joining Charlie McAvoy, Henri Jokiharju and Jordan Harris on injured reserve, Victor Soderstom will join the varsity on an emergency basis.
