On the eve of the NBL1 season, WNBA champion and former No. 3 draft pick Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis has signed with the Ballarat Miners in a recruiting coup.

The Lady Miners were able to pull away in the fourth quarter and they made their free throws to advance to their first ever state championship game, winning 53-46.
