Trump administration "border czar" Tom Homan took exception to Pope Francis' criticism of U.S. immigration enforcement and mass deportations that are underway.

"You ought to fix the Catholic Church and concentrate on his work and leave border enforcement to us," Tom Homan said after Pope Francis's criticism.

In recent weeks, the pope has continued to criticize Trump’s policies. In an Italian television interview, the pope said it would be a “disgrace” if Trump pursued his anti-immigration policies, according to Reuters.
