New Mexico State University President Valerio Ferme and the university’s Acting Athletic Director Amber Burdge met with media on Friday, Jan. 3 to talk about the firing of former Athletic Director Mario Moccia.

The university confirmed the information Thursday morning and put out a press release during the early afternoon. Moccia, an NMSU alumnus, has been athletic director since 2015.

Director David Fincher recently clarified a long-standing question about the contents of “the box” in Se7en while discussing the film’s 30th anniversary. Speaking in an interview, Fincher directly addressed rumors of a prosthetic head being used in the iconic scene.

NMSU President Ferme and other University leaders met with reporters to talk about why they are parting ways with former Athletics Director Mario Moccia.
