According to the Lorain Police Department, the memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Doors at Rocket Arena will open at 10 a.m.

Law enforcement officers from across the state will patrol the streets of Lorain this week, allowing the city’s police department to attend the Wednesday funeral of Officer Phillip Wagner, who died in an ambush last week.

Lorain Acting Police Chief Michael Failing released new information on two of the three officers who were injured Wednesday afternoon after an ambush in Lorain.

Wagner died Thursday after being shot in an ambush attack. Two other officers were wounded, with one suffering serious injuries.

Fellow law enforcement and community members are gathering Thursday night for a candlelight vigil honoring the three Lorain police officers who were shot during an ambush.

Volunteers met at the Kurtz Bros, Inc. in Avon on Sunday to create luminary bags for the memorial in front of the Lorain Police Department set up to honor fallen Officer Phil Wagner.
