There is now a declaration of disaster in one Lancaster County community after intense storms brought heavy rain to the area on Monday. A severe flash flooding event prompted the Mount Joy Borough Council to declare an emergency at 5 p.

Most of southcentral Pa. is under a flash flood warning, as heavy rains have closed a section of Route 30 and several communities, including Mt. Joy in Lancaster County, are reporting severe flooding.

Dozens of people had to be rescued and major roadways were closed Monday as Lancaster County was hit by severe thunderstorms and flooding for the third week in a row.
