Ring makes doorbells, cameras, floodlights, alarms and intercoms, a list best summed up as “stuff to keep your home safe.” The obvious omission in the lineup is smoke detectors, which is why the company has rocked up to CES 2025 arm-in-arm with experts Kidde.

Unlike traditional Kidde alarms, you’ll set these up using the Ring app, which is also where you’ll get alerts about smoke and CO alarms. And instead of the Kidde alarms chirping when they need new batteries, you’ll get that alert in the Ring app, too. If, however, you ignore the alerts for a week, you will get the annoying chirp.

Ring is teaming up with a leading fire safety product maker to launch a new line of smart smoke and combination alarms.

The Kidde Smart Smoke Alarm with Ring ($54.97) and the Kidde Smart Smoke and CO Alarm with Ring ($74.97) are hardwired alarms with battery backup. They will launch this April at The Home Depot and come to more retailers later in 2025, according to Kidde.

Ring is branching out beyond the best video doorbells and home security cameras into another area of home safety: Fire prevention. The company announced that it's partnering with Kidde to launch a new smart smoke detector that will alert Ring customers in the event of a fire or smoke event in their home.

The new offering will be showcased at CES 2025—providing attendees with an exclusive first look at the alarms before it hits U.S. shelves this spring.

Kidde and Ring will launch two models in April, along with a $5-per-month smoke monitoring subscription service.
