Nintendo Switch 2 gets 1 more last-minute launch game
Digest more
Nintendo Switch 2 comes out June 5. GameStop is hosting an official launch event, allowing customers to pick up consoles right at midnight.
With pre-orders randomly disappearing, fans excited for the Nintendo Switch 2 should double-check their order status before launch day. Whether due to stock issues, payment errors, or security flags, these cancellations are causing concern, and securing a console before June 5 may require extra vigilance.
If we were judging by hype alone, the $450 Switch 2 could be the biggest console release of both this year and the past several years. And if you analyzed how well U.S. preorders have gone so far after tariff-born delays and mobbed retailers,
"Didn't pre-order Switch 2? Additional Switch 2 units will be available in-store and online at launch while supplies last. Launch event begins in-store at 3pm local time on June 4th. Switch 2 pickups start at 12am EST / 9pm PST."

Best Buy was the first to signal that at least some of its Switch 2 inventory at certain stores was being set aside for day-one sales. The electronics retailer promised “limited inventory of systems, games, accessories [and] the chance for a free Nintendo collectible” for those showing up at 12:01 a.m. ET on June 5.
The Switch 2 comes out on June 5, 2025. Here's what to know about preordering from Nintendo, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, GameStop and Amazon.
Back in March, Nintendo released its Nintendo Today app, which acts as a hub for the latest news from the company about its games and the upcoming Switch 2. It appears, however, that Nintendo doesn't want some of that news on its app shared via screenshots.
In New York the event will kick off on 3pm ET and in San Francisco it will take place at 1pm PT. Following each celebration there will be a "separate Nintendo Switch 2 Shopping Session" at each store, taking place on 9pm PT/12am ET. To attend this, you'll need to have a Warp Pipe Pass, with more details "coming soon".
