HOUSTON — The Houston Texans (6-5) kept their playoff hopes alive on Thursday night by beating the Bills at NRG Stadium in front of a national audience. It was the third straight Houston win behind backup quarterback Davis Mills. Mills has been in for starter C.J. Stroud, who’s been out since suffering a concussion in a loss to the Denver Broncos.

Davis Mills has done enough to help the Texans win three straight games, but he said after Thursday night's win, he knows this is C.J. Stroud's team and is happy to hold down the fort until he's back.

Footage showed Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud looking unpleased that Davis Mills was being praised in the locker room.

Davis Mills, the third pick in round three (taken one spot after the Vikings selected Kellen Mond), has won three games in a row, beating the Jaguars, Titans, and Bills. And while he’ll likely take a seat for C.J. Stroud when the Texans face the Colts in Week 13, Mills has done enough to get the attention of the league at large.

The Houston Texans have swept the season series with the Tennessee Titans. Davis Mills threw for 274 yards and a touchdown and Matthew Wright kicked a 35-yard field goal as time expired for a 16-13 win by Houston on Sunday.
