A deadly military clash along Thailand and Cambodia's shared border is escalating, with airstrikes carried out by the Thai army.
"I made it clear to [Trump] that Cambodia agreed with the proposal for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire between the two armed forces," Cambodian PM Hun Manet said after the phone call, adding that Trump's mediation "will truly help protect the lives of many soldiers and civilians".
Thailand and Cambodia exchanged fire along their disputed border for a second day on Friday, officials from both countries said, with more than a dozen people reported killed and more than 135,000 civilians evacuated.
