Harrison Bader is being linked to a return to both the Yankees and Mets in trade talks. The Yankees are down an outfielder now with Aaron Judge sidelined with an elbow injury, and the Mets are looking to shore things up for a playoff run.

New York Mets corner infielder Mark Vientos is in the midst of a disappointing season, one in which he's failed to build on last year's momentum. Predictably, Vientos has found himself the subject of recent trade rumors leading up to the July 31 deadline -- a dynamic he opted to talk about with reporters on Monday.

Martino doubled down on a recent Mets rumor about the team’s interest in All-Star second baseman Brandon Lowe. A desirable add for a Mets team that could use a center fielder but has backup options at the position, Martino warned all fans to keep an eye on Lowe over the next few days. Apparently, the Mets have liked him for a while.

The 2025 MLB trade deadline is Thursday at 6 p.m. ET. If last year is anything to judge by, Wednesday and Thursday are going to be chaotic, with several teams making last-minute decisions on whether to be buyers, sellers or some hybrid combination of the two.

“To be honest with you, I feel like every year besides last year I’m in trade talks,” Vientos told The Athletic on Monday. “It’s the same thing. I don’t really care. All I’m really focused on is just getting better. That’s it.”
